Founded in 1993 and based in Reading, Berkshire, the College has grown rapidly to become one of the largest colleges of acupuncture in the UK. Our weekend and weekday acupuncture programme is designed for mature students.   It is fully accredited by the BAAB and validated as a BSc(Hons) degree by Kingston University.  We offer a unique education in the art and science of acupuncture and integrate Five Element acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine, the two main styles taught in the UK. We also offer an MSc in Chinese herbal medicine and an MSc. by Learning Agreement (both subject to validation in 2008).   We have an ongoing programme of Continuing Professional Development for practitioners.  The College clinic, based within our two beautiful Georgian buildings, is open to the public.  Further details about the College and our introductory afternoons can be found on our website.

The College of Traditional Acupuncture was founded by J R Worsley in Leamington Spa in the 1960s and is a Registered Charity. The College has over 2,000 graduates. Our Acupuncture programme is fully accredited by the BAAB and validated as a BA(Hons) degree by Oxford Brookes University. The traditional Five Element acupuncture programme is a three-year programme with attendance primarily at weekends. It is designed for mature students who may have work or family commitments. There is a strong emphasis on personal and professional development, reflective practice and research-mindedness. Courses commence in March and September each year. The course is a BSc (Hons) in Oriental Medicine - Acupuncture validated by the University of Brighton. The College is accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board (BAAB) allowing graduate eligibility to the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) for professional registration and membership. The course is based on a thorough grounding in the classics of Chinese Medicine and Philosophy. ICOM is the only College to teach Stems and Branches to such an advanced level and making it entirely practicable as seen in the clinic. There is a fully integrated full time clinic in the college. Full time four year course with small classes.

The BSc(Hons) Traditional Chinese Medicine at Middlesex University is the only accredited degree programme in the UK offering integrated teaching in Acupuncture and Moxibustion and Chinese Herbal Medicine and was developed in partnership with Beijing University of Chinese Medicine (4 years full time or 6 years part time).  The course is accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board and the European Herbal Practitioners Association Accreditation.  Students undertake three broad themes of study; Western medical sciences, Chinese Medicine (Chinese Herbal Medicine with Acupuncture and Moxibustion) and research methods and evidence-based practice.  There is a strong emphasis on clinical training and this is undertaken at the Asanté Academy of Chinese Medicine, located at the Archway Campus of the University.  The Asante also provides acupuncture clinics within the NHS and students are able to gain valuable practice experience under supervision in these settings.

Founded in 1988 and based in a lovely Georgian building in the centre of York, we are an independent educational charity at the forefront of education and research in acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the UK. We offer a week-end based three year MSc / professional Diploma in Acupuncture validated by the University of Wales and fully accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board, with a BSc in Acupuncture in development for 2008. The course reflects the rich diversity of oriental medicine but is founded on the systematic approach to Chinese medicine used in modern China. Our busy teaching clinic is open all year round and serves the local community. Committed to continuing professional development, we run a varied seminar programme, Diploma/MSc courses in Chinese herbal medicine and Nutrition, and a course in pre-prepared herbal formulae.

The BSc (Hons) Acupuncture is featured by its excellent clinical training, which is carried out in the University’s Complementary Medicine Clinic and off-campus NHS clinics. The Complementary Medicine Clinic is equipped with the most advanced teaching facilities including the wireless internet connection for all students, the broadcasted consultation and treatment systems, the smart board system and lots more. In the past, on average, every graduates had finished more than 80 treatment sessions individually on real patients. Our graduates gained awards for best graduates in the past three years. The course also offers out of syllabus seminars with well-know Chinese medicine practitioners on varies interesting topics.

The Acupuncture programme at Salford University is to provide a well supported, BAAB accredited 3 year full time; 4-6 year part time undergraduate science honours degree in acupuncture.
The programme aims to provide an informed and research minded, critical understanding of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). The course is a combined route of personal and professional development, for creating skilled independent and self reflective acupuncture practitioners.
In addition to a friendly environment for learning, the university has an excellent purpose built Clinic for the students to observe treatment and practise acupuncture. Graduates from the programme have a chance to visit China and work independently in the graduate clinic at the university.

This BSc (Hons) Traditional Chinese Medicine: Acupuncture is a 3 year full-time course (5 or 6 years part time). Our focus is the professional education of competent and caring practitioner/research members of the Chinese medical tradition. Theoretical understanding, practical skills and attitudinal development are integrated through extensive supervised clinical observation and practice in our busy on-site clinic in central London. There are placements in the National Health Service to broaden your work perspectives and support in setting up and managing your own practice. You will learn core health sciences and practitioner skills with subject specialists and students from the School’s other complementary medicine courses. The university library and IT learning support is state of the art.
